Last year I struggled to get on my board and paddle out into the surf. The weather, my board (a 9’2 heavy beast… since traded in for a 8'0), my abilities (beginner, at best) and certain locations (i.e. boulder fields under the shallow water!) gave me a bit of anxiety.
Instead, I grabbed my rain boots and camera gear and captured a familiar scene during our surf trips across the pacific northwest. Have you ever watched a surf break with surfers waiting for the set? Looks a lot like a pod of seals gathering on the seas.
... And this year? The camera gear mostly stays in the van during our surf sessions and I've joined the pod.
